between you and me
between you and me
is so much wilderness
one can’t help but get lost.
between you and me
I tell myself
it could have been different,
but damned if I can see
just where or how.
what good is blood
if you need water?
what good are words —
loud, soft or indifferent?
It should have been different.
It should have been different
between you and me.

"but damned if I can see" ...
May I be humble in advice?
"explore the depths of the abyss that is uniquely you" ... ;)
Very Nice
yes, this is the third in a series with the same title - all written with different subjects in mind. so while this is largely a statement of regret, the first poem is pure vitriol. guess which one seems more comfortable?
vitriol? all very nice...the first reads more natural, spontaneous, from the gut...this one...seems that there is more... reaching...for the words? in any case...a quite delightful, bittersweet read, as usual...
by the way, how is your son, the marine, doing? still stateside, i hope...
