writer's block - in prose
pen in hand
I saw The Emperor Without Clothes
and wrote... nothing
my monogrammed, college-ruled notepad
naked
save my dry obligatory drivel
my recycle bin of boilerplate verbiage:
no pun too lame
no cliche left behind.
Is this what I’ve come to?
words for words’ sake?
words to mask the absence
of words?
in a word:
yes.
