Hell is paved with good intentions.
Weightless
New Year Resolution -
a weekly date
with Fred Astaire
g.d. - sorry about that! I just hope you weren't chugging down leftover eggnog at the time.
hermes - our street here in ExtraBitterVille is unpaved, which is both Hellish and ill-intentioned.
ma - would you like some Ginger with that?
Make no resolution.
No promises make
No dissapointments.
While I quite like these I can't understand yours (collective) fascination with these 'haikus'.
Could you please explain as you seem to be the major proponent of same?
Thank you.
johnny - I've written a series of articles for the on-line journal GotPoetry? to try to address your very question, since I frequently ask it myself. Why do I haiku? is the first of three that try to put my preference for haiku into perspective.
at the risk of oversimplification, I liken a good haiku to a good photograph - an image that is instantly and universally recognizable, but one that will also linger in the mind and imagination long afterward. that, in a nutshell, is what I'm attempting to do.
Thank you!
and for the comprehension
