weeps like a willow

Special,
I thanked you before, for making me Think. It is more than this. Thank you for helping me to Feel.

Sounds to me like you already miss him. Us kids need to pay more attention to the little "nothings" we leave behind. Whether in a pair of socks or an old weathered sweatshirt like the one I just left at home.
Ma - I'm deeply flattered. I find haiku to be very rewarding in that a seemingly static observation (like socks left behind) can be imbued with emotion. My biggest challenge as a poet is not to intrude upon the moment but rather to clarify it enough to share it with an audience.
Colonialave - I miss them all. All five of my kids descended upon our humble abode for a few short days, and all five are back in the places they call "home".
I hope his feet aren't too cold.
